OUR FARMSTAND AND STRAWBERRY U-PICK IS OPEN SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS, 12— 5 P.M.
*We had a record number of people come out to pick strawberries today, Saturday 5/31. Because of this, the field is VERY picked over and there are not many ripe berries left. If you were planning to come pick tomorrow, Sunday 6/1, we highly recommend rescheduling your visit for next weekend!
Our Farmstand is open year round and stocked with already harvested veggies, flowers, heirloom dry beans and preserves all organically grown here at Blue House Farm! We also carry sourdough bread and pastries from Rosalind Bakery, local pastured eggs from Twisted Fields, chicken, pork, and beef products from our friends at Root Down Farm and Markegard Family Grass-fed, organic seasonal fruit from Frog Hollow Farm and Blossom Bluff Orchards, local honey from State Street Honey, and lots of other goodies from our coastside community!
Our organic strawberry u-pick is OPEN starting 5/31 - 6/1! U-pick is first come first served, no reservations required. Please follow signs for parking and for u-pick. We provide recyclable boxes to pick into. When picking, please stay on the paths between beds, pick gently to avoid damage, and only pick ripe berries (100% red!). Return to the big redwood barn to weigh and pay. You pay for what you pick! Strawberries are &7/lb. Enjoy!
U-pick FAQs:
Do I need a reservation and is there a fee?
Nope! No reservations required, and you just pay for what you pick.
Can I bring my dog?
Your dog is welcome at the Farmstand and in our picnic areas, but your dog will need to stay tied up outside of the strawberry field. No dogs allowed in the field, per food safety guidelines.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes! We love children of all ages!
Do you have restrooms?
Of course. Our onsite restrooms are (clean!) port-a-potties.
Do you have a place for me to fill up my water bottle?
Unfortunately, no. Potable water is a challenge on our part of the coast, so we recommend bringing a full water bottle from home! We do have beverages (seltzer, soda) for purchase in the Farmstand.
Do you serve lunch?
We sell vegetables, fruits, bread, and pastries, but do not have a lot of food options that would constitute lunch. There are other options in the area, like Alice’s Restaurant, the food truck at the San Gregorio General Store, and many more options in Pescadero and Half Moon Bay.
What else can I do nearby the farm?
So much! We are near so many beaches and hikes. Head south on Hwy 1 for more to do in Pescadero, go north on Hwy 1 for Half Moon Bay, or head west on Hwy 92 for redwoods and hiking!
Do you have cell service? Wifi?
Cell service depends on the carrier, and we do not have wifi. Download your maps before hitting the road!
Can I pick vegetables at the farm?
Nope! Just strawberries. Our veggies are harvested by our wonderful crew and are for sale in the Farmstand.
Do you sell strawberry plants or other plant starts?
Not at this time.
Are the strawberries organic? What about the other produce that you sell?
Yes and yes! Our entire farm is certified organic by CCOF. The products that we buy in from other farms (stone fruit, mushrooms, eggs, meat) are generally certified organic, or clearly labelled if not.
I don’t like how the strawberries I picked look in comparison to the pre-harvested ones you have for sale in the Farmstand. Can I swap them out?
No! You pay for what you pick. Please be mindful of what you are picking — once the berry is off the plant, it is yours. No put-backs.
What varieties of strawberries do you grow?
Our earlier-producing varieties are Cabrillo and Monterey, and our later-producing varieties are Albion and San Andreas.
